Indian Rope Massage by Foot Pressure
(The authentic and original ‘Chavutti Thirumal’)

Benefits:  Softens tendons and ligaments, increase flexibility, soothes aching muscles, increase circulation.

Indian Rope Massage by Foot Pressure (Chavutti Thirumal) is a firm and elegant treatment, where the recipient lies on a mat on the floor and the therapist uses her feet to massage the body while holding a rope for balance. This treatment uses warm oils with massage strokes mainly from the heel or instep, sweeping along the whole body in a single motion. The therapist carefully controls the force of each stroke to deliver the correct pressure for stretching and relaxation of the body.

We offer the authentic treatment, first used in Kerala, India over 1000 years ago and designed to help prevent injuries to martial artists and Katakali dancers. The treatment primarily works on muscles, ligaments and tendons to increase flexibility, reduce tension and increase joint mobility.
Please note: This treatment uses minimum draping and is not recommended for those wishing a ‘gentle’ massage.
