Why come to Counselling / Family Therapy?
Nearly everyone experiences difficulties or a feeling of 'stuckness' at some point in their life.
Counselling / Family Therapy provide a place to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours without judgements being made. It gives you a safe space in which to be fully heard.

Most people come to Counselling because some part of their life isn't working as well as they want it to. This may be for many reasons including:

  • General unease / dissatisfaction with life

Family Therapists offer help to individuals, couples and family groups in the following areas:

  • Depression
  • Issues arising from Special Eductional Needs, e.g. bullying, fitting in
  • Low Self esteem
  • Managing anger
  • Obsessional behavious
  • Relationship issues including family breakdowns, adjustments in step families, sibling rivalry
  • Traumas , bereavement and loss, violence and abuse
  • Stress and manageing change
Counselling / Family Therapy is not giving advice or being told what to do. It is a process in which we look at your present situation and the ways you interact with both people and the world from different angles, and in doing so, create new options. moving forward

Our Therapy Service :

A half price first consultation during which time you can discuss your needs and the therapist can discuss ways of working. Then by mutual agreement, it can be decided to continue with further sessions or not.

Further therapy sessions:

  • 50 minutes for Counselling
  • One hour for Family Therapy

The number and interval between sessions will be agreed between the therapist and clients. The time between the sessions is an important time for clients to explore new ways of going on. The therapy is reviewed on a regular basis. All sessions are confidential.
